Walmart recently launched a new feature called “pay-with-cash” on its website. Basically, the program allows people to reserve things online, then go into the store and buy them with cash. The idea is that it opens up e-commerce to people without debit cards, and allows people to shop online without some of the requirements of most online shopping.
Ars Technica, however, wonders if hackers might be able to use the new system against Walmart for something like a “denial of inventory attack — ” get a botnet to make a ton of pay-with-cash requests that nobody would ever show up to fill. CEBU CITY — Filinvest Land Inc. (FLI) will withhold its 2012 payments for the South Road Properties (SRP) lots, because of encumbrances on the titles of the lots it bought from the Cebu City Government.
Titles of the lots that FLI bought have been reportedly annotated “lis pendens,” meaning there is pending litigation involving the properties, as a result of the City’s court battle with the Rallos heirs.
